DESCRIPTION OF 30TH ANNIVERSARY LOGO

Number 30 signifies a significant milestone, reflecting the journey the NREB has undertaken in championing environmental sustainability since its establishment on 1st February 1994.

The graphic elements in number 3 depict the diverse prescribed activities falling under the jurisdiction of the NREB, in accordance with the mandate outlined in Section 5 of the Natural Resources and Environment Ordinance [Cap. 84, Laws of Sarawak (1958 Edition)].

Gold represents energy, vitality, and positivity, symbolizing our ongoing commitment as we persistently strive to tackle environmental challenges and shape a sustainable future.

Green symbolizes environmental consciousness and sustainability to protect the environment and promote eco-friendly practices. It is also associated with nature, including the flora and fauna. This is in line with the State initiatives to go green i.e., green economy, green energy etc.

While black symbolizes strength, authority, and power for the NREB as the leading environmental agency in the State.

DESCRIPTION OF THE THEME

“Advocating Environmental Sustainability” means managing the global imperative to address environmental challenges and create a more sustainable future for our planet.

This theme prompts a comprehensive exploration of the multifaceted efforts and strategies required to mitigate environmental degradation, foster conservation and encourage eco-friendly practice such as to protect the planet’s resources, reduce carbon footprint and support the well being of ecosystem.

The NREB turned 30 this year on 1st February 2024. Throughout these years, the NREB has encountered challenges and issues to perform the mandate given by the State under Section 5 of the Natural Resources and Environment Ordinance [Cap.84, Laws of Sarawak (1958 Edition)].
