Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg said, to achieve comprehensive preservation and preservation of the environment, any economic activities and development programs should be balanced with environmental factors. According to him, this is in line with the concept of sustainable development, which is development that meets the needs of current generations without compromising the ability to meet the needs of future generations. He said this in the text of his speech read by the Deputy Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian who represented him while completing the National Environment Day (HASN) Celebration Ceremony 2023 at the Sarawak State Assembly (DUN) Atrium here on Wednesday.

The Sarawak Premier added, strict strategic policies and law enforcement as well as cultivating environmental awareness and surveillance at all levels of society are also very important. “Close cooperation, high commitment, and the collective awareness of all stakeholders are essential to prevent environmental pollution and to carry out law enforcement efforts effectively,” he said. HASN Celebration 2023 Sarawak Level themed "Environment Shared Responsibility" is jointly organized by NREB with JAS, Trienekens Sdn. Bhd, ZHA Environmental Sdn Bhd and SAR-ALAM Indah Sdn Bht. The main objective of HASN's organization is to promote education and environmental awareness widely while providing a platform to Malaysians, to live together the environment besides recognizing those who have made significant contributions to environmental preservation and preservation.

In the ceremony there was also a presentation of prizes for the NREB Secondary School Level 5R Sculpture Design Competition), the inter-School E-Waste Collection Competition (JAS), the presentation of certificates to the parties involved in the Electric and Electronic Waste (BEE) Campaigns 2022 and 2023 , the presentation of the contribution of the NREB's Adopted School Program.
