Kuching 21 April 2025 Monday - The Earth Day 2025 celebration at the State level was successfully held on 21 April 2025 at Politeknik Kuching Sarawak. The event was officiated by YB Datuk Haji Len Talif Salleh, Deputy Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration, and Environment of Sarawak. The event was also jointly organised by the Department of Environment (DOE) Sarawak, Trienekens (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd, Politeknik Kuching Sarawak, Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) Sarawak, and other agencies. The event was attended by an estimated 300 participants from various educational institutions and communities, along with 100 representatives from government agencies, NGOS, and the private sector. The celebration aimed to raise environmental awareness and promote sustainable living practices among the youth and community.

The event featured a variety of engaging activities, including beach cleaning, tree planting, exhibitions, e-waste collection, health screenings, cake decoration, sculpture making from recycled materials, treasure hunts, and a youth talent competition. Representatives from other agencies, including NREB Sarawak, also delivered speeches emphasising the need for collective efforts in addressing environmental issues such as climate change, waste management, and pollution.
